DAVIDE MICHIELETTO

Davide Michieletto is more than just a percussionist; he embodies the essence of music through a diverse range of talents, from performance and sound design to teaching and sound engineering.

Hailing from Bologna, Davide earned his degree in percussion instruments from the "G.B. Martini" Music Conservatory. However, his pursuit of excellence led him far beyond traditional classroom settings. He had the opportunity to participate in master classes with renowned soloists such as Pietro Tonolo at the "Thelonious Monk" Music School for improvisation, and Paul H. Jeffrey and Stefano Battaglia at the Teatrum Permanent Improvisation Workshop in Siena for jazz.

His musical career has been marked by prestigious collaborations. As a percussionist, he performed alongside the Thelonious Monk Big Band, accompanying esteemed guests including S. Swallow, C. Bley, and P. Tonolo, among others. He has also contributed to renowned orchestras such as those of Pordenone, Belluno, and the "Piccola Sinfonica" of Milan in the classical field.

Simultaneously, Davide is a member of the "Brake Drum Percussion" percussion ensemble, which has appeared at numerous contemporary music festivals across Europe, with live radio broadcasts on stations such as RAI in Italy and SRW in Germany. His passion for music has also led him to serve as a jury member for the international "D.Jenko" competition in Belgrade in the chamber music category.

His talent transcends musical genres, positioning him as a sought-after jazz and ethnic music drummer, performing at festivals and shows worldwide.

In addition to his live performances, Davide has made his mark on several notable recordings. As a drummer, he has contributed to albums such as "Qif" by QuartoInfoglio and "No Signal" by Daniele Vianello Trio. As a percussionist, he has participated in recordings such as "Night Over" by the Thelonious Monk Big Band.

In the realm of contemporary music, Davide has collaborated with composer Antonio Segafreddo, recording percussion solos as well as chamber music works.

In the world of pop and singer-songwriters, his versatile talent has been showcased through projects such as "D'Amore e di Politica" by Adriano Iurissevich, where he contributed with his drums, percussion, and arrangements, as well as in the "Freve da Samba" project on vibraphone.
